saengil chukha hae Hui-a!

Two years ago today,
at 7:50pm in Daejeon City, South Korea,
a 7lb 5oz baby girl named Hui-a (which means joyful pretty) was born.

For 15 days, she was cared for by her birth mother.

Because of circumstances we may never know or understand, she was then given up for adoption.

On May 4, 2011, she found her forever family.

She would spend the first 20 months of her life in two different loving foster homes,
and celebrate her first birthday with other children waiting for their families.

Three months ago, she finally made it home.

And we are so happy to be celebrating the first two years of her life with her here in our arms!

She was beyond thrilled to see her birthday present after church today!

And big sister had no problem trying it out as well.

And helping mommy make one of Hui-a's favorites, yakimandu (and really Zoey's favorite)!

Hmmm!  Happily chowing down on some of yumminess!
Mandu, bulgogi, bap and fish cake!

There's nothing better than Pororo on the iPad while you're cruising in a pink car.

Except for maybe cake...

with candles.

That you get to blow out!

And then eat!

She happily shared.

Zoey turns four at the end of the month and we decided to have one big party this year, so that's to come, but I must say, it was a great day just the five of us being together!

To Hui-a's foster mothers..thank you for allowing this sweet girl to thrive and grow and learn and be loved...without you, she would not be the incredibly amazing two year old she is today. (and I promise to send lots of pictures soon!)

And to her birth mother...simply...

Thank you.

Birthday Weekend!!

Yes, weekend!

Today, Braedan turned seven years old!

But the party started on Friday!

With lunch at school with his cousins...

and cupcakes with his class!

Since his cousins (in a different school district) didn't have school, they were happy to come and spend his birthday weekend with him!

These two are just 8 months apart (my oldest sister's youngest) and they are best buds!

Then it was all about the bowling on Saturday!

(I made them all wear our I <3 Korea shirts!)

How 'bout those piggies?!?!

Daddy's a show off.

So exciting!

Checking out the scores...forgot his glasses...

Taking a little snack break...

with nana (my mom)!

She insisted on carrying her own ball the entire time.  So independent!

Zoey loves her cousin Riley!

It's safe to say that they all thoroughly enjoyed bowling, and Braedan actually tore it up!  Scoring well over a 100!

But these two had enough by the end and were both throwing tantrums!  They promptly fell asleep int he car!  Thank goodness...

Then it was time for an A*ngry Bird party with friends and family!

Can't believe my sweet boy is seven!

Today was actually his birthday and he happily woke up early (after going to bed at 11pm!) to play with all his new loot!

And of course, little sisters wanted to get in some playtime too. :)

So, then we were all just sitting on the couch chatting, and Em walked out of the room where we couldn't see her...she was super quiet so I told Braedan to see where she was and he pointed out that she had taken off her shirt...

So I hopped up, and this is what I saw...

she had taken off everything!

Then this is what I saw streak past me!

Uh huh!  She refused to put her clothes back on and thew a huge fit when I tried to at least put a pull up back on her!  Forced it on her only for her to walk away and take it off again!  So daddy got her in the bath...what can I say to that?!?!  Not much!

I wish Zoey's face wasn't blurry in this pic!  They were sitting on my dad's lap, 'sharing' him (something they're working on because they both love him so much!) and bouncing up and down singing!  A very sweet moment with the two of them!

A wonderful weekend celebrating my amazingly awesome precious son, who I am so proud of and love so very much...

who has gone from this little 7 lb 3oz newborn...

to a chubby baby...

super fun toddler!

to the best son a girl could ask for!

Happy birthday to my sweet Braedan!!
