No nap.

This is what happens when your two year old doesn't nap!

It all starts out fine...
{wearing jammies she picked out herself}

when you let her outside to stop the fussiness...
{it was even raining a bit and she insisted no one else come out with her}

and she makes smushy faces on the door...
{that I just cleaned by the way, guess I'll be doing that again soon}

but then the tears come...
{because it started raining too hard}

and then the laughter...
{because I tickled her to stop the crying}

till finally, she falls asleep during dinner...
{guess my taco baked potato wasn't very interesting}

Though I'll admit having her in bed since 6pm was a nice break this evening...

for both parents and older kiddos...
{she's a spitfire!}

as long as she doesn't wake up at 3am!
{fingers crossed}

The week in pictures.

Pre-school graduation!

Swimming,

and more swimming!

1st grade graduation!

Hugs for big brother!

Another attempt at operation 'get all kids to look at camera and smile'

The sisters taking pics of each other!  Zoey took this one!

Emersyn took this one!

After our first day of all three kids home, I can tell you it's going to be a looooooong summer!!  I love having them all home, don't get me wrong, but boy is there a lot more fighting and complaining of boredom around here!  Most days I think you'll be able to find us out at the pool or in an air conditioned library. :)

So let me ask, what are you doing with your kids this summer????

Rolling with the punches!

When I picked Em up in Korea, (a month ago yesterday, how is that possible?!?!) she was on meds for some 'flu-like' symptoms.  She pretty much has had a runny nose and a little cough since coming home, and this past weekend, spiked a pretty high fever...

We headed to the doctor Monday morning, and unfortunately, she has pneumonia.  Thankfully it was caught early and is only in her right lung, so we're treating with 10 days of strong antibiotics and avoiding a hospital stay, thank goodness.

Her breathing sounds terrible!  And her usually addictive bottles of ooyoo were causing her to throw up, so she was avoiding bottles, had no appetite and wasn't sleeping well.  Poor baby.  She is usually so happy and active but has been pretty fussy and miserable these last few days.  Fortunately, today she seemed a little better after having a few doses of meds and her breathing already sounds so much clearer.

And she's back to her bottles of ooyoo. :)

This was right before she fell asleep tonight...my sweet girl!  Oh how I love her!

She's getting so much more comfortable with our co-sleeping and a month in, we have evolved from walking her around in the carrier on my back, to rocking her in my arms in our rocking chair, to now, simply laying next to her in our bed till she falls asleep.  To me, after all the sleeping issues we had with Zoey, that's like heaven on earth!  She still will not allow Danny to take her to bed, or sleep with us, but we'll get there one day soon! (Or maybe she'll transition to her own room by then!)

She's not really a cuddler, but in the morning, will reach out to find me and lay her head on my shoulder. :)

To add to it, I have an upper respiratory infection and have not been feeling great!  At times, this week has got the best of me and it's only Wednesday!  I will say that I feel like I've taken a few punches these last several days!

I will admit that one of the hardest transitions for me as a mother of three, has been needing to be in three different places at the same time!  Filling three different needs and answering three different questions, etc, etc, all at the same time!  The language barrier with Emersyn continues to be frustrating for both she and I, and she is still not really interested in the English language, saying little to nothing in English and only repeating Korean phrases.  She's  just not interested!

Overall though, her transition continues to go pretty smoothly, and we are very grateful for that.  It's now hard to imagine life before her being here...

I'll leave you with our first family picture at the airport three and half weeks ago!!

Thanks to my friend Mario of Mario Lopez Photos for capturing these moments for us!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

While the boys were at baseball practice, it was swim time instead of bath time...
cause we can't all get the mother of the year award...   :p

And it was going so well!!

Keeping these girls busy proved successful today!

There was no time for fighting!

(well, there was still some, but not nearly as much as yesterday!)

A much better day today!

Library visit, lots of snacks, playtime and Pororo on the iPad!

They were even holding hands in this pic, but they moved too quickly for me to get that shot. :)

And they even had time to torture their favorite mini dach.

This poor dog.

Seriously.

He finally made an escape!

And promptly ran over to my lap for a safe haven, where I promised he didn't have to ride in anymore shopping carts!

Dinner time around here just turns crazy.

Em is still not really eating much 'American' food, so I'm still making her a separate meal for the most part.  My son is a super picky eater, it's amazing he's still alive, and while Zoey is a pretty good eater normally, since the other kids are having different meals, she wants one too...and it's just that time of day when they're kinda tired, get whiny and let it all out for daddy when he gets home!

Em is doing so much better with Danny, but it's kinda weird still...she's not thrilled with greeting him or telling him goodbye when he comes or goes, but will slowly open if he initiates interaction.  When my dad walks in though, she shrills with excitement and always want to touch his face (I'm thinking maybe the bushy eyebrows are her interest)!  She climbs all over him and usually Zoey and she will wear him out for the few minutes he comes over to play with them.  She is allowing Danny to bathe her without me being in the same room, but will come looking for me as soon as they're done...hasn't yet allowed him to put her down for nap or bedtime though...we'll get there!

We headed out to Braedan's baseball game (yes, we're at the ball field A LOT!) and Em loves kids her age!  She'll always walk up and give hugs and kisses, whether they're wanted or not (she did this to a few kids at the library today too)!  And then she insisted on taking off her shoes...and I totally let her.  That is not something I would ordinarily EVER do! Let my kid take their shoes off in a public place?!?!? Uh, no!  But she was happy, no harm done and we scrubbed her feet extra hard at bath time tonight...maybe the third time around, you just start to let a few more things slide!  Keep the peace!  A Korean friend of mine was at the game and we joked that if there were any ajummas around, I woulda been in big time trouble for that one!  She mentioned her Korean mom was super annoyed with her girls wearing Crocs the other day and insisted they put on shoes that covered and protected their feet!

Right before the game ended (Braedan got a great hit tonight by the way!) Zoey ran up with blood everywhere!  Her dress, her tights, her hand and her face!  Finally, we figured out she had cut her finger and it was huge scene!  I got her home, bathed her and calmed her down and was finally able to take a closer look...I've seen a lot of cuts and scrapes, but honestly, this one probably needs a stitch or two.  We think she might have caught it on the bleachers somehow.  But Zoey still has a great fear (like freak out panic attack screaming fear) of doctors and needles and was already so stressed, overtired and in pain that I've decided to just keep it super clean and let it heal on it's own but careful to watch for infection just in case.  The location of it is awkward too and I think it should heal up on it's own pretty quickly.

Got her in bed as she only wanted me, and then was sitting in the dark with a partially asleep Em, and bang!  Braedan slips, falls in the shower and hits his head.  I couldn't jump up with Em in my arms, so Danny went to his rescue and thankfully, he is okay.

And it was going so well!  Geesh!  Thankfully, everyone is still alive and now sleeping peacefully.

On the agenda tomorrow...non slip grips for the kid's bath, neosporin and more Angry Birds bandaids (per Zoey's request) and more bottles! (we were told Em was no longer taking them so only bought two just in case and this girl is chugging ooyoo like it's nobodies business three times a day and only out of a bottle!)

Aw, mama of three, no easy task!  But so worth it.  Wouldn't change it for the world.

Fabulous Friday!

No more crying in the car seat!!  Yay!
(We like to play a little musical carseats too, Zoey picks and chooses which she wants to sit in every time we get in!)

Lunch at brother's school...he was so excited to introduce his new sister to his teacher and classmates!
Just a little taste of what the future holds for trying to get all three kids in the same pic looking at the camera!  Oy!

Started some birthday shopping for Braedan and the girls insisted they needed new flip flops and sunglasses for themselves!

Come on, does it get any cuter than this?!?!

Then off to the park!

Backward sliding?  Yes, please!

Zoey showing she does care...she attempted to catch Miss Em coming down the slide!

This girl loves to swing...

She's taken a liking to her appa!

These girls can play hard!!

And we introduced Em to Sonic slushes.

She's on board. :)

And then a trip to my brother-in-laws last home game of his senior year of high school!

Didn't bring my camera, but the girls had a blast! (Braedan stayed home with his cousin)

These girlies are certainly girly, but sure do enjoy the ball game!

I am one lucky gal. :)
